About this event

Changing year group is a stressful time for children of any age; however, the transition from the EYFS to Key Stage 1 is one that causes greater tensions for both children and practitioners.

This course will explore the perceived differences between the EYFS and KS1 and consider how practitioners can plan and prepare to make this transition effective through building on good EYFS practice.

Delegates will gain:

• An awareness of child development and the learning needs of young children;
• Strategies to plan an effective learning environment in Year 1 and how to organise the day;
• An understanding of what good practice looks like in the EYFS and how this could be continued into Year 1.
