Nursery education
and care for
2 - 5 year olds
Photograph tour of the nursery
There are approximately 20 2-3 year olds in this nursery at any one time. We plan a happy, nurturing, secure environment where children can grow in confidence and develop their learning through play experiences that are meaningful to them.
The two to three year olds have two rooms linked by an archway and access to their own garden. The rooms are divided into areas to provide a range of play activities suited to children of this age including painting, water and sand play, role play, block play. There is a cosy homely area with a big sofa, just as you might have at home, and floor cushions for children to relax, look at books etc. The larger room is adjacent to the 3 - 5's nursery with a gate between, so that as the children get older and more confident there will be opportunities to begin to use the facilities of the older children including the garden.
The sessions are 8.45am to 11.45am Monday to Friday with the option of a hot lunch, from 11.45am to 12.30pm. Children are normally expected to attend a minimum of three sessions per week (fewer than this is at the discretion of the Head Teacher).
For two year olds the fees (from Sept '11) are as follows:
8.45am to 11.45am - £19.50
8.45am to 12.30pm (including hot lunch) - £24.75
In the term after the child's third birthday*:
8.45am to 11.45am - no fee
11.45am to 12.30pm (including hot lunch) - £6.85
* Children born after 31st March are not eligible for a free place until the September after they are 3.
Please telephone or email the Centre after your child's first birthday if you would like an application form, and do make an appointment to come and have a look at our nursery.
