Nursery 2-5

Nursery for 3 - 5 year olds

The 3 - 5's nursery is an exciting and carefully planned learning environment where we provide a balance of child-initiated and adult-initiated activities.

There is a large open plan room with small group rooms leading off it and free access to a garden.

Have a look at the photographs to see the different play areas we have created in the nursery and outside in the garden.

The nursery session
For most of the session the children can choose to play either inside or out. At the end of their session, children are encouraged to tidy up as this is an important part of their learning experience. All children then attend group time where they share a plate of fruit and then have a story, music or other activity to develop their listening and attention skills.

Admission to the 3 - 5's Nursery

A child may be allocated a place through the nursery school's admissions policy (which is set by Surrey County Council).

Children are allocated either a morning (8.45am to 11.45am) or afternoon (12.30pm to 3.30pm) place. There are also a limited number of full-time places (8.45am - 1.45pm) which are funded - these are offered at the discretion of the school and are prioritised according to need.

These sessions are free and children must attend five sessions per week Monday to Friday. Any hours over and above these sessions are charged at a fee and are subject to availability.

Hours can be extended as follows on a regular basis (fees as from Sept 2011, reviewed annually):

  • From 11.45am to 12.30pm to include a hot lunch on any day of the week - £6.85 per day
  • To include the other session i.e. 11.45am to 3.30pm for a child with a morning place or 8.45am to 12.30pm for a child with an afternoon place - £22.00 per day

Please contact the nursery for an application form if you wish to put your child's name on our waiting list. You may do this after your child's first birthday, and we strongly recommend that you telephone us to arrange to come and see the nursery as well.
